Happy New Year!! Seems like simple words. Clearly a simple thought. While much of January will be a continuation of 2011, you have to pay the bills, you have to finish the school year, you have to return the unusable gifts, etc... But those simple words do imply a fresh and exciting future.
The Future is Now. More than a slogan. More than a goal. It is the reality of assessing our current needs and situation and designing a path to continue forward in obedience to God’s direction for our church family.
Let me encourage you to take a “check-up from the neck-up.” Evaluate your thought life, your motives. Are you a servant? (Jesus was) Are you living a sacrificial life? (Jesus did) Are you faithful to your covenants with God and man? (Jesus was) Am I an active witness of the Gospel? (Jesus was) Let me encourage you to go to www.cslewisinstitute.org and take the annual Spiritual check up!
This New Year brings new excitement. I am looking forward to our Sunday Night series on Membership Matters. As we look at the importance of Church Membership, what it is all about and why it matters! In February we will be looking at Sharing God’s Love, and how that should impact each of us.
One of my goals for our church family in 2012 is to constantly remind us of the importance of “Embracing the World…with the Love of Christ.” We will have several special missionary testimonies throughout the year and will examine the importance of having a vision beyond Sellersburg.
Jesus is coming again, maybe in 2012. Will He find us working? Will He find us faithful?
